MZS Successfully Defends Tax Appeal

Attorney Dennis Kokenos successfully defended the Town of Greenwich in the matter Hilibrand v. Greenwich. This residential tax appeal involved the homeowner’s challenge to the valuation of her mansion estate of over $12,000,000. The homeowner and her appraiser argued that her property was worth $8,000,000 using sales of homes of lesser quality construction and outside of her exclusive neighborhood. The Court, however, disagreed, finding the case presented by Attorney Kokenos and the town’s expert appraiser to be more creditable.
